GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The arctic sunshine that we had today helped us warm to 7 degrees after dropping down to -5. The northern suburbs started between -10 and -20 this morning so they had further to go to get above zero but most of them did make between 0 and 5 degrees.
Clouds roll in throughout the evening hours and we have some snow showers on the way later tonight into Thursday morning. In the metro we can expect up to 1"-2" of fluffy snow but with temps below 15 degrees, salt will not work well so you're AM commute tomorrow will likely be slow going again.
The good news is that we should crack 20 degrees tomorrow afternoon and be close to 30 Friday. Another blast of cold moves in late Saturday into the early part of the week dropping temps below zero again at night.
If you can safely capture an image or video of the storms, post with hashtag #kare11weather.
